With a background in Computer Engineering and Science I started learning 3D modelling about 6 years ago. I now do freelance work and also upload asset packs focusing on highly detailed 3D assets as well as more technical programming solutions for both Unity and Unreal.

Dark Fantasy Aesthetic

Most of my 3D assets have a Dark Fantasy Aesthetic inspired by some of my favorite games like Diablo 2 and Dark Souls 1. All assets use a PBR workflow and they all (at least) contain the three following texture maps: Albedo, Normal, Mask. I try to always fill up the mask map with as much useful data as possible so that more technical users can create their own texture versions in software like Substance Painter or Blender. Q: In Unreal I changed the import settings for the Normal Map and now the Normals look invertedA: You have lost the setting that inverts the green channel. Open up the details pannel for the Normal Texture and check "invert green channel"Q: In Unreal my Mesh asset has two UV-channels but the first set of UVs does not overlap and is more tightly packed. Why is there another UV-set?A: FAB requires you to have two UV-sets even if one UV-set is sufficient to follow their guidelines. In these cases you can safely use the first UV-set for both lightmaps and textures.
